With only one week left until Christmas Eve, the pressure is building to grab hold of those creative last minute gifts for your friends and loved ones. I always say that as much as I adore unwrapping a gift, and making use of it as early as Christmas morning (nothing like cozying up in that new sweater while enjoying Christmas Day!) I appreciate the gift of 'experience' more than anything! I'm lucky to be one of those girls that is often thought of as "the girl who has everything", which makes gift giving for me pretty tricky. Giving me something to experience means giving me the gift of a memory, rather than junking up my dresser more than it already is.
The key to giving the gift of experience, is personalizing it for that particular person. Take myself for instance, just by glancing at my blog it's easy to see that I am a fan of wine and, with my many blog posts on visits to Wine Country Ontario, there's no doubt that visiting Ontario's wine region is something I immensely enjoy. Why not give the gift of Wine Country Ontario to a wine loving friend or loved one by registering them for a winery tour, or perhaps give a gift certificate to a winery with a fabulous restaurant! With the stress of the holidays and inevitable dry skin this time of year, one of my favourite Wine Country Ontario gifts are gift certificates to the spa in wine country! Sure you can get a massage or an exfoliant treatment pretty much anywhere, but when in wine country, go for something interesting! I LOVE the sound of a Grape and Wine Scrub such as the one they have at the prestigious Shaw Spa in Niagara. The Shaw Spa's Grape and Wine Scrub Treatment scrubs away that dry Winter skin by using the extracts from the grape seed, leaf, stems and wine, leaving your skin smooth and perfectly hydrated! What better way to end a day of winery touring, than relaxing at the spa!
Wine Country Ontario has been kind enough invite me to be apart of their #12DaysWCO, a 12 day celebration of the season! Each day a different wine loving blogger will suggest one of their favourite Wine Country Ontario gifts to give under $100 and, even better, Wine Country Ontario will send one lucky reader that very gift! So, how can you win a Shaw Spa Grape and Wine Scrub Exfoliating Experience? All you have to do is comment on this post, describing your favourite Wine Country Ontario Experience, or, if you've never had the chance to experience Wine Country Ontario yourself (what's wrong with you?), comment and tell me why you would like to! So what are you waiting for? Share your Wine Country Ontario experience with me! Good luck!

I've always loved Ontario wine and being able to tour the wineries. Loved it so much in fact that I got married at Vineland Estates winery. Definitely a memorable moment complemented with great wine and food.
I have to second Candace's experience: my husband and I got married this past summer at Kegends Estates Winery where our guests got to sample wines and stroll through the grapes. We spent the weekend touring wineries we'd yet to visit and loading up our trunk with box after box of wine. As many amazing experiences as I've had in ontario's Wine Country, nothing will beat walking between the vines, down the 'aisle' to marry my soulmate. And the 24 bottles of wine we got to take home (leftover from the reception dinner) didn't hurt.
This year, instead of heading down with our friends, we took my parents, who live in Thorold on a tour of some wineries we hadn't visited before. We had so much fun & my parents discovered new places they had never been to that were basically in their backyard. It was a delight to introduce them to the joys of wine country!
I have been a fan of Ontario wines since living in Ottawa for a year. Have yet to have a vineyard tour in Ontario but have heard it is beautiful countryside and how can you go wrong with wine and a beautiful setting!
I'm originally from St. Catharines so in the past 2 years, every time I visit them, I try to stop at a different winery on the way back to Toronto. My favourite experiences were at Flat Rock, Malivoire, Peninsula Ridge, Organized Crime, and so many more. My mom doesn't drink so I can't share the experience with her, but she's turning 70 next month and definitely loves to spa.
I had the opportunity to enjoy some great Ontario wines at the former food and wine show in Toronto. The tickets included a tasting with three producers with some of the most incredible wines I had the pleasure of tasting. Having the chance to experience it first hand would be incredible!
I LOVE Ontario wines but sadly I have never had the chance to experience Wine Country Ontario! I would love to have the chance to experience it with my boyfriend. We are huge wine lovers and we love to try new things together!
Last summer, my fiance and I went on a walking tour of the wineries in the Jordan area. We packed a picnic and walked about 10km that day, stopping at 8 different wineries along the way. What a day!
Some of our best times have been jumping into a van with friends, driving 1 1/2 hrs to wine country and touring through vineyards that we have never experienced. This is something we do on an annual basis...but interestingly enough I have never experienced a spa break in wine country! Definitely an experience I would like to include on our next wine country visit...like during the ice wine festival!
